Russian President Putin is once again open to negotiations to end his war against Ukraine. US representatives are now expected in Russia.

Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin has confirmed plans to hold talks with US officials in Russia next week. The delegation is expected in the first half of next week, Putin said in the Kyrgyz capital Bishkek at the end of his visit there. On the Russian side, representatives of the Foreign Ministry and the Presidential Administration would take part in the negotiations.

Putin specifically mentioned his advisors Vladimir Medinsky and Yuri Ushakov. There is a very large complex of questions that need to be addressed. Every question has a key meaning, he emphasized. According to the Kremlin, US President Donald Trump’s advisor Steve Witkoff is expected in Moscow next week.

Putin himself met with Witkoff several times. He also reiterated his willingness to talk about Trump’s 28-point paper to end the war. This could be a basis for a later peace treaty, he said. Putin once again made it clear that he wanted to have control over the entire Donbass before a ceasefire.
