Meta is preparing for a new experiment in the world of social media. Forum, the company’s new application released for iPhone users, focuses especially on people who actively use Facebook Groups. At first glance, the design and working logic of the application directly reminds you of Reddit.

Meta started testing the new application called Forum, which it developed for users to more easily follow the discussions in Facebook Groups, on the App Store without making an official announcement. The company’s new application aims to allow users to see conversations in groups based on their interests in a single stream.

Meta describes the Forum as “a dedicated space for the conversations that people find most important.” The application aims to offer an experience similar to Reddit in terms of its structure. Users can follow the contents of different Facebook Groups on a single platform and get answers to their questions from real people.

A Facebook account is required to access the Forum and users’ activity is linked to their main Facebook profile. However, users can use pseudonyms; However, group administrators have access to real credentials. Meta’s new app focuses only on in-group discussions, unlike the Facebook feed. Content suggestions can also be offered based on users’ interests.

The company also added artificial intelligence features to the app. The tool called Ask aims to find answers to users’ questions by scanning the content between groups. Another feature is the artificial intelligence assistant that helps group administrators with content moderation. Meta announced that the Forum is currently in the testing process and is being developed based on user feedback.
