Ukrainian drone penetrates NATO state Bulgaria

The war in Ukraine is raging just a few hundred kilometers from Bulgaria. A drone invades its airspace.
In the airspace of NATO and EU member states Bulgaria a Ukrainian drone penetrated and exploded. According to the Bulgarian Ministry of Defense, the initial analysis of the remains of the flying object, which exploded around 100 meters from the Romanian border, showed that it was most likely a Maya decoy drone.
This type of drone is widely used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, said a statement from the Ministry of Defense broadcast by public broadcaster BNT in Sofia. There is no reason to believe that the incident was intentional.
The Ukraine declared its “unreservedly open” willingness to investigate the incident together with Sofia. “We can say with certainty that the Ukrainian armed forces deliberately did not direct any resources towards Bulgaria,” said Foreign Ministry spokesman Georgy Tichyy in Kyiv.
No injuries or property damage
The flying object exploded on Bulgarian territory at a distance of 100 meters from the Romanian border, said Prime Minister Rumen Radev after a meeting of the Security Council at the government in Sofia. The crash site in a sunflower field is about a kilometer away from a Bulgarian compression station on the Trans-Balkan pipeline. There were no injuries and no property damage.
