A Ukrainian financial manager dies after falling from the fourth floor of a house in Milan. The investigators are investigating a homicide and reconstructing a mysterious meeting.
Ukrainian businessman Alexander Adarich fell from a fourth-floor window of a building on Via Nerino in Milan on Friday and died. As the Italian newspaper “Corriere della Sera” reports, the Italian public prosecutor’s office is investigating a possible homicide. According to investigators, there is currently much to suggest that the 54-year-old financial manager could have died before the fall.
The police are trying to reconstruct the banker’s last hours and determine who he was with in the apartment, which was used as a B&B. A gatekeeper at the house claims to have seen a man at the window shortly after the fall, who then went into the courtyard, approached the lifeless body and asked in English: “What happened?” Shortly afterwards the man disappeared. His identity is still unclear.
According to current investigations, several men were said to have been in the apartment until a few minutes before the fall. Whether and in what role they are involved in Adarich’s death is the subject of ongoing investigations. Investigators are investigating the possibility that a suicide could have been faked in order to cover up the traces of a crime. They expect final clarification from the autopsy, which is still pending.
The investigators found several documents in the apartment that showed different nationalities, but each had a photo and personal details of the victim. It is still unclear what significance these documents have for the case. They could provide clues to previous business activities or to the circle of people with whom Adarich was most recently in contact.
The 54-year-old’s travel history is certain: he came to Milan in the morning and wanted to leave the city that same evening. The accommodation was not booked in his name and he is said to have never been to Milan before. For the investigators, there are many indications that Adarich was specifically summoned to a meeting. What this was about remains unclear.
