The ceasefire between the pro-Iranian Hezbollah militia in Lebanon and Israel is fragile. According to Lebanese sources, many people in Lebanon are again dying in Israeli attacks.
Despite a ceasefire between Israel and the pro-Iranian Hezbollah militia, mutual attacks continue. The Lebanese Ministry of Health said, according to the state news agency NNA, that 12 people were killed and 25 others were injured in Israeli attacks on locations in southern Lebanon. One of the victims is a child. The Israeli army initially did not comment on the incidents.
Israel’s army said on the Telegram platform that it had intercepted several drones loaded with explosives and a rocket that threatened its soldiers in southern Lebanon. Several interceptor missiles were launched. According to media reports, four Israeli soldiers were slightly injured in southern Lebanon and northern Israel.
Officially, there is a ceasefire in the war between Hezbollah and Israel. In fact, attacks from both sides occur every day. The Israeli armed forces are also active with ground troops in southern Lebanon. Lebanon itself is not officially a party to the conflict. In the wake of the Iran war, the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah escalated again.
In view of the fragile ceasefire, the USA is pushing for direct talks between Israel and Lebanon at the highest level. US President Donald Trump announced the ceasefire in mid-April after talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Lebanese President Joseph Aoun.
