In the compilation made by Counterpoint Market Intelligence on behalf of FlightGlobal, the global publication for the aviation industry, the 100 largest companies in the sector were included in line with their 2023 activities.

The information used in preparing the list was compiled from companies’ annual reports and publicly available documents.

While there has been a significant comeback in civil aviation, one of the sectors most affected by the Covid-19 epidemic, the biggest actors in this field, Boeing and Airbus, have regained their places at the top of the list.

Boeing ranked first on the list with sales of 77 billion 794 million dollars. Boeing was followed by Airbus with 70 billion 829 million dollars.

RTX, which focuses on aviation solutions for the defense industry, followed Boeing and Airbus with sales figures of 68 billion 920 million dollars, Lockheed Martin with 67 billion 571 million dollars, and Northrop Grumman with 39 billion 290 million dollars.

In the list, GE Aerospace ranks 6th with 31 billion 770 million dollars, Safran ranks 7th with 25 billion 107 million dollars, L3Harris ranks 8th with 19 billion 419 million dollars, Leonardo ranks 9th with 16 billion 549 million dollars, BAE Systems ranks 10th with 14 billion 757 million dollars. took it.

Among the important actors in the industry, Rolls-Royce stood out as 11th with 14 billion 210 million dollars, Bombardier as 16th with 8 billion 46 million dollars, Thales as 21st with 5 billion 777 million dollars, and SpaceX as 28th with 4 billion 543 million dollars.

Two companies from Turkey were included in the list of the 100 largest aviation companies for 2023.

While TUSAŞ ranked 38th, Baykar, which entered the list for the first time, found itself in the 49th place.

TUSAŞ, which offers platforms such as ANKA, AKSUNGUR, ATAK, T70, HÜRKUŞ, GÖKBEY to users at home and abroad, continues to develop air platforms such as ANKA III, HÜRJET and National Combat Aircraft KAAN. TAI has achieved the success of being among the top 50 companies in the aviation industry with a sales figure of 2 billion 674 million dollars in 2023.

While TAI’s R&D investments and high-tech solutions increased the company’s competitiveness, exports to friendly countries and structural product deliveries to civil aviation companies strengthened the company’s revenues and position around the world.

Baykar, on the other hand, made a strong entry into the list with a sales figure of 1 billion 805 million dollars. Baykar, which has the title of the armed unmanned aerial vehicle exported to the most countries with Bayraktar TB2, added Bayraktar AKINCI TİHA to this success in 2023. Baykar, the world’s largest UAV exporter, became Turkey’s export champion in the defense and aviation industry in 2021, 2022 and 2023.

Baykar, which has obtained more than 90 percent of its revenues from exports in recent years, has 97.5 percent of its currently signed contracts for exports. Baykar, which made export agreements with 35 countries for Bayraktar TB2 and Bayraktar AKINCI, is developing Bayraktar TB3 and Bayraktar KIZILELMA platforms with these revenues.
