Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that Turkey’s first domestic and national communication satellite Türksat 6A has reached its temporary orbit of 50 degrees east.
Uraloğlu noted the following in his post on his social media account:
“The bearer of the star and crescent, our first domestic and national communication satellite Türksat 6A, reached its temporary orbit of 50 degrees east today at noon. The antennas of Türksat 6A will be opened for the first time here and tests will be conducted. Thus, as Turkey, we will also protect our rights in the 50 degrees east orbit. Following the verifications to be carried out here for 3 months, our satellite will move to the 42 degrees east orbit in October, where it will provide service for 15 years. Our joy and pride increases as Türksat 6A travels in space. We are happy, enthusiastic and proud.”
