The integration of the Alka -directed energy weapon system, known as the “laser weapon” in the public opinion of Roketsan and the Kaplan Hybrid vehicle developed by FNSS, will showcase for the first time in IDEF.

Roketsan Innovative Systems Program Manager Tugrul Ozdem, said in a statement, a former Turkish name Alka’nın “innovative” and “destroying” means, both the future weapon and the targets of the delicate way to destroy the targets, said they prefer Alka for this product family.

Özdem stated that they have created Alka in line with the asymmetric threats such as ammunition, mini/micro UAV, FPV drone, handmade explosives and newly formed needs, and that they detected threats or targets with Alka, and that they used the identification and diagnosis for the second time with precise electro-optics, and then used the laser firing methods.

During these processes, both by using image processing and artificial intelligence support that they do not get too much to the operator expressed that Özdem, said:

“Especially let’s say: Alka is not a weapon, the weapon system solution. We can also provide this solution by bringing together one or more Alka. In fact, the network -supported weapon concept that we have already proved in the field is something that is exactly described for Alka.

With artificial intelligence support and more than one alka, we can ensure that only one weapon or different weapons assignment to different targets, but not only the region but a large area or strategic places. In doing so, we use the air defense concept. Alka is currently working as the first complementary element of the Steel Dome. “

Özdem, in the process of development, they first demonstrated technology, then they went to different powers, productized and present to the field after the new variations said.

Refunds and notifications from the field directing themselves to a hybrid vehicle solution for the platform that will carry Alka Özdem, “What are we doing in the hybrid vehicle we actually take our energy on our backs. There is no need to make an additional energy transplantation and we have a high mobility ability to enter the field. It will give it and this hybrid actually provides this ability in the vehicle. ” he said.

“We give direction to technology”

In the laser weapon system, Özdem stated that the expression, “The higher the power, the more effective,” is not very accurate, and made the following evaluations:

“In fact, the important thing that you can create, you can focus on the goal correctly. Alka product family we provide it. We provide a very precise focus on the target. So I say to come to life in the heads.

In fact, what does this provide you? In normal weapons, you will also have secondary damage when you destroy a gun or destroy the target. So there is an effect around it. This is not in the laser weapon system. In the laser weapon system, you are destroying the dot hit and you can offer a faulty shot on the target zero.

Secondly, you do a very quiet task. There is no other ammunition noise because you use electricity. You can do quiet and hidden, covered operations. As long as you have energy, you actually shoot. You can also perceive them as threats in herd. The threats that can come from anywhere or in any way, you can actually make instant interventions against them very quickly and very actively. Because what you use is actually laser energy and laser actually means the speed of light. The speed of light also gives you the ability to intervene in the order that we can call ‘moment’ directly. “

Emphasizing that Roketsan in laser weapon systems and Türkiye directs technology, Tuğrul Özdem, said:

“We are pioneers in this regard. Everything done, everything we see in the back for the first time things done. An example and let’s do it in Türkiye.

As Roketsan, we delivered our Envatere weapons. We qualified them. Useful back from our user comes. We will realize our integration on both sea platforms, land platforms and future air platforms in the future. We will be in the weapon of the future. “

Energy Center Kaplan

FNSS Defense Systems Chassis and E-Mobility Solutions Manager Varlık Kılıç said that they started to develop the Kaplan platform in 2016 and entered the inventory as a gun carrier vehicle in 2019.

Kılıç gave the information that they integrated the KMC Weapon System on the platform and that they have delivered over 300 vehicles used so far.

Kılıç explained that they have been carrying out the development of hybrid electric power group since 2021 for the vehicle and that they exhibited the technology impression prototype in IDEF 2023 and that they have completed the test, development and verification activities and that they realized Alka integration.

Kılıç said that the need for hybridization of Kaplan was the need for indigenousization of the transmission.

“Palette vehicles are also very complex. The tracked vehicle has a complex transmission system that fulfills the progress, right-left return and braking functions. We thought about the hybrid electric solution as an alternative system that will replace this transmission system. We can achieve mobility, acceleration, climbing and land performance.

The vehicle has a generator consisting of diesel and electrical machines. This generator produces the electrical energy required by the electric driving system. Thanks to the battery system, we can use this energy for the electrical driving system when the generator does not work. But thanks to our generator, we can offer the advantages of electric driving in our user by taking all our energy from fuel without the need for a charging in the field. This generator system can also provide external power support on a police station. In other words, it can be used for the charge of other vehicles and in electrical nutrition of other vehicles. At the same time, we offer an infrastructure suitable for new generation weapon systems and task equipment thanks to its high power and high -voltage electrical infrastructure on the vehicle. “

Noting that the diesel generator, which produces the electrical power of the electric driving system, can produce very high powers, Kılıç provides the necessary electrical energy for the mobility needs of the vehicle. This also makes it possible to provide high voltage high -power electrical power required by new generation weapons, such as Alka. Therefore, you do not carry a generator for a high -energy weapon system. You can already use the generator you use to give energy to the vehicle, as well as for a gun system or a task equipment. In this way, it was possible. “

24 hours task with zero voice

Saying that the main energy need of the vehicle comes from the fuel, Kılıç said, “The generator converts it into electrical energy and provokes the pallets thanks to the electrical driving system. But we also have the battery system. This battery system sees the energy between the generator and the electric driving system. We are able to use the last kilometers of the operation with a silent surveillance activity on the field of 10 kilometers. he said.

Stressing that the software used on the vehicle and many subsystems were completely developed by FNSS engineers, Kılıç said, “Thanks to the knowledge we have achieved since 1989, we are one of the few companies that can do this in the world.” he said.

Asset Kılıç, the vehicle used in the electric driving system electric motors provided by the high torque of diesel-powered tiger compared to the vehicle about 20-30 percent of the rank of additional torque reported. Kılıç, “Normally in the same level of power, but of course this provides us much superior performance in acceleration. In war conditions, we can increase this power by about 50 percent. This means a very high agility in acceleration performance and we offer a superior product to our customers and users.” He said.

New target 40 ton hybrid vehicle

Kılıç stated that they have completed all performance, mobility and life tests for Kaplan Hybrid, and that they are able to give these vehicles to customers after integration and a number of qualification studies.

Kılıç, “Our work will continue in heavy tonnage. The power group used in this vehicle will support the pallet vehicles up to 20 tons. 40 -ton pallet vehicle platforms to support the original hybrid power group work. We will offer a superior product to our users in terms of operation.” he said.
