Türkiye exported aquatic products worth $2.2 billion to 133 countries last year

In the statement made by the Ministry of Commerce, information was given regarding the export of aquatic products.

In the statement, it was stated that the exports in this field from the blue homeland to the global markets were getting stronger and that Türkiye reinforced its position in the sector with its production capacity, quality infrastructure and export performance.

In the statement, drawing attention to international data, it was reported that world aquaculture exports, which were 167.9 billion dollars in 2021, increased by approximately 11 percent to 186 billion dollars at the end of last year.

In the statement, it was stated that Türkiye’s aquatic products exports increased by approximately 64 percent in the same period, from 1.38 billion dollars to 2.2 billion dollars, and it was emphasized that products were sent to 133 countries last year.

In the statement, the following was noted:

“Our aquatic products exports, which were approximately 2 billion dollars in 2024, exceeded 2.2 billion dollars with an increase of 10.9 percent in 2025. In the same period, world aquatic products exports increased from 172 billion dollars in 2024 to approximately 186 billion dollars in 2025, with an increase of 7 percent. Our aquatic products sector, which draws attention with its production capacity, quality infrastructure and export performance, continues to make significant contributions to our country’s food supply security, sustainable production vision and export targets. “As the Ministry of Commerce, we will continue to increase the competitiveness of our aquaculture sector in international markets, strengthen the effectiveness of our exporters in global markets and support the value-added growth of our sector.”
