Türkiye and Bosnia and Herzegovina’s trade volume exceeded 1 billion dollars

Deputy Minister of Commerce Mahmut Gürcan, the volume of trade between Türkiye and Bosnia and Herzegovina exceeds 1 billion dollars, “Especially in recent years, 1 billion 60 million dollars exceeding, hopefully will continue to increase.” he said.

Gürcan participated in the Sarajevo Business Forum (SBF), which was organized by Bosnia Bank International (BBI) under the auspices of the Ministry of Transport and Communication and the Ministry of Transport and Communications.

Gurcan, who made a statement to journalists after the event, said that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan also participated in the first SBF in 2010 and cared about the forum.

Gürcan stated that they are working to improve their investments and trade volume in the region and said:

“The trade volume of Türkiye and Bosnia and Herzegovina is over 1 billion dollars. Especially in recent years, it has exceeded 1 billion 60 million dollars, I hope it will continue to increase.”

Pointing out that both countries mutually hosted tourists in the field of tourism, Gürcan said that more than 200 thousand people came to Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2024 as tourists and around 190 thousand Bosnia and Herzegovina visited Türkiye.

Türkiye and Bosnia and Herzegovina is a friendly and sister country, Gurcan said, kinship ties between the relationships further strengthened, he added.

Stating that the Ministry of Commerce has led the development of trade volume by expanding the free trade agreement in the agricultural field, Gürcan said that they will meet with nearly 200 Turkish investors in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Gürcan said that the Ministry of Trade will make the necessary efforts in order for Turkish investors to work more easily in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“The General Directorate of Ziraat Bank in Bosnia and Herzegovina has 35 branches here, it serves here, which is a source of pride for us.

In addition to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Gürcan added that they provide serious support to countries such as Serbia, Albania and Montenegro to strengthen the volume of trade and to provide better service by investors.
