Turkey’s oil imports increased by 1.85 percent in August

According to the “Oil Market Sector Report” of the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) for August, imports of crude oil, which constitutes the largest item in Turkey’s total oil imports, decreased by 7.11 percent and reached 2 million 649 thousand 870 tons.

During this period, imports of diesel types decreased by 22.5 percent to 1 million 273 thousand 878 tons.

The remaining part of imports consisted of aviation and maritime fuels, gasoline and fuel oil types and other products.

Thus, total imports increased by 1.85 percent in August compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 4 million 431 thousand 668 tons.

The highest import of crude oil and petroleum products was from Russia with 1 million 313 thousand 38 tons, followed by Iraq with 487 thousand 683 tons and Kazakhstan with 316 thousand 212 tons.

On the other hand, domestic gasoline sales increased by 40.2 percent in August compared to the same month last year, reaching 519 thousand 186 tons, and diesel sales increased by 9 percent and reached 2 million 429 thousand 967 tons.

Total sales of petroleum products increased by 12.6 percent and were recorded as 3 million 110 thousand 114 tons.

OIL PRODUCTS EXPORTS INCREASED BY 0.8 PERCENT

Turkey’s aviation fuel exports increased by 0.42 percent in August compared to the same month last year, reaching 574 thousand 316 tons, and marine fuel exports increased by 104.7 percent, reaching 159 thousand 37 tons.

Exports of gasoline types decreased by 67.2 percent to 8 thousand 687 tons, and exports of diesel types increased by 42.1 percent to 257 thousand 192 tons.

Total exports in the oil market increased by 0.8 percent to 1 million 206 thousand 438 tons.

Production of diesel types decreased by 10.2 percent in August compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 1 million 304 thousand 879 tons.

Production of gasoline types increased by 5.04 percent to 471 thousand 999 tons, and production of aviation fuels decreased by 0.44 percent to 644 thousand 751 tons. Marine fuel production was calculated as 165 thousand 27 tons, with an increase of 95.9 percent.

Total refinery petroleum product production decreased by approximately 10.9 percent and reached 3 million 111 thousand 648 tons.
