Turkey’s total imports of oil and petroleum products decreased by 25.5 percent in September compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 3 million 250 thousand 18 tons.
According to the “Oil Market Sector Report” of the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) for September, imports of crude oil, which constitutes the largest item in Turkey’s total oil imports, decreased by 43.1 percent and reached 1 million 686 thousand 454 tons.
During this period, imports of diesel types increased by 14.9 percent to 1 million 162 thousand 859 tons.
The remaining part of imports consisted of aviation and maritime fuels, gasoline and fuel oil types and other products.
Thus, total imports decreased by 25.5 percent in September compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 3 million 250 thousand 18 tons.
The highest import of crude oil and petroleum products was from Russia with 781 thousand 367 tons, followed by Iraq with 464 thousand 751 tons and Kazakhstan with 211 thousand 334 tons.
On the other hand, domestic gasoline sales increased by 12.5 percent in September compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 434 thousand 783 tons, while diesel sales decreased by 1.65 percent and reached 2 million 238 thousand 881 tons.
Total sales of petroleum products increased by 0.32 percent and were recorded as 2 million 822 thousand 137 tons.
OIL PRODUCTS EXPORTS DECREASED BY 30.8 PERCENT
Turkey’s aviation fuel exports increased by 0.61 percent in September compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 521 thousand 187 tons, and marine fuel exports decreased by 54.11 percent, falling to 63 thousand 33 tons.
Exports of gasoline types decreased by 93.24 percent to 12 thousand 854 tons, and exports of diesel types decreased by 84.47 percent to 20 thousand 743 tons.
Total exports in the oil market decreased by 30.8 percent to 839 thousand 427 tons.
Production of diesel types decreased by 28.41 percent in September compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 938 thousand 491 tons.
The production of gasoline types decreased by 6.3 percent to 455 thousand 587 tons, and the production of aviation fuels decreased by 17.27 percent to 461 thousand 790 tons.
Total refinery petroleum product production decreased by approximately 29 percent and reached 2 million 328 thousand 669 tons.
