The Türk-İş Board of Presidents meeting was held at the Confederation Headquarters.
According to the news in Gazete Duvar, in the final declaration published after the meeting, it was stated that the “Labor Meeting” rally held in Ankara on October 20 with the participation of more than 150 thousand people was a turning point and that the participants of the rally showed a solidarity that gives hope for the future.
‘FAIRNESS SHOULD BE PROVIDED IN TAXATION’
In the declaration, it was stated that “Justice should be ensured in income and taxes, and living conditions should be improved”, and it was noted that the Türk-İş Board of Directors supported the “common view” of the labor confederations to ensure justice in taxes.
‘INSTEAD OF ANNOUNCEMENT OF FIGURES…’
In the declaration, it was reminded that many people and institutions, especially the IMF, announced the amount or increase rate regarding the minimum wage, and the following statements were included:
“A perception operation is being carried out here and it is argued that a low minimum wage is needed to fight inflation. Türk-İş Board of Presidents does not accept this approach. Instead of announcing a figure on the minimum wage, Türk-İş Board of Presidents believes that the principles that should be taken as a basis when determining the minimum wage are important and that the committee works “It points out that these principles must be defended. The minimum wage to be determined for 2025 should be determined at a level that will enable the worker and his family to live humanely according to the economic and social conditions of the day and be compatible with human dignity.”
‘MUST BE REGULATED URGENTLY’
It was stated in the declaration that the difference in the salaries of those who will retire this year and those who will retire in 2025 will lead to loss of rights and qualified workforce, and that an urgent regulation should be made to prevent this.
‘LEGITIVE AND JUSTIFIED STRUGGLES WILL BE SUPPORTED’
In the declaration, it was also noted that the Board supports all the legitimate and justified struggles and strike practices of the workers organized in the unions that are members of the confederation, especially against organizing and dismissals.
