According to the will of the U.S. government, at least 3,000 people who are immigrated for irregularly daily are to be arrested every day. That would be three times as many as at the beginning of Trump’s term.
The US government is urging the ICE immigration authority to massively increase the number of arrests illegally immigrated migrants. “Under the leadership of President (Donald) Trump, we want to set a goal of at least 3,000 arrests every day for the ICE,” Vice chief Stephen Miller told Fox News-that would be more than a million a year. The number of daily access will continue to increase over time, he added.
The portal of the immigration authority was preceded by a tense meeting of Miller and Minister of Homeland Protection Minister Kristi NoEM last week, the portal “Axios” wrote. The new goal is three times as high as the daily number of arrests at the beginning of Trump’s term.
Trump is driving a tough course in migration. He describes the influx of migrants on the southern border of the United States as an “invasion” and has declared a national emergency. That is the basis for further measures. In the case of several deportations, there are doubts about the legality of the procedure of the US government.
Already in March, the Ministry of Homeland protection had closed three departments that had taken care of civil rights and migrants. A spokeswoman for the ministry told the New York Times at the time that these departments had hindered the enforcement of the immigration laws by building bureaucratic hurdles and undermining the mandate of the immigration authority.
