Donald Trump is said to have encouraged the Ukrainian president to attack Moscow and St. Petersburg. According to “Financial Times”, Trump is pursuing a strategy to bring Russia to the negotiating table through pain.

According to a media report, US President Donald Trump encouraged Ukraine to attack attacks deep in the Russian field. Trump is said to have asked Selenskyj on a phone call in early July: “Wolodymyr, can you attack Moscow? … Can you also attack Saint Petersburg?” This is reported by the “Financial Times”, citing insiders. According to the report, Selenskyj replied: “Definitely. We can give us the weapons.” There is initially no statement by the White House.

The conversation between Trump and Selenskyj is said to have taken place with the Russian President Vladimir Putin, who described Trump as “bad” after a phone call. Two people familiar with the conversation told the “Financial Times” that Trump had signaled his support for a strategy that aims to “add pain” to the Russians. So Russia should be forced to the negotiating table.

Despite his disappointment with the results of the previous talks, Trump does not want to give up negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin. “I am disappointed by him, but I haven’t finished with him yet,” Trump told the British broadcaster BBC. You have a good conversation and be shortly before an agreement, “and then he tears down a building in Kiev,” added Trump as a confirmation of his criticism of Putin.
