Supply bottlenecks, clogged toilets: US President Trump doesn’t want to know anything about alleged grievances on board the “USS Abraham Lincoln”. He sticks to the action, but also makes an announcement.

Despite reports of grievances on the aircraft carrier “USS Abraham Lincoln”, which has been deployed in the Middle East for months, the US President is holding out Donald Trump to the military operation. As can be seen in a video from CBS News, when asked by a journalist whether the operation had already taken too long, he replied: “No, no, no. Not nearly long enough.” Trump also downplayed concerns from family members of responders about conditions aboard the aircraft carrier, adding that the ship would soon be relocated and replaced by another “very similar ship.”

Trump thereby confirmed some media reports that the aircraft carrier should be withdrawn from the Middle East and replaced by the “USS George Washington”. The “Wall Street Journal” and the US broadcasters had this CNN and NBC News reported, citing Insider. According to CNN, however, the replacement of the ships was already planned before the complaints. Trump did not mention the name of the “USS George Washington.”

Senator called for immediate government action

Earlier on X, Connecticut state senator Richard Blumenthal called on the US government to explain what it was doing to support the armed forces on board. “Widespread reports of supply shortages, sanitation issues, deteriorating mental health and more require immediate action,” it added.

A lack of soap and clogged toilets are not even the worst problem: the mental health of soldiers is deteriorating, according to the official inquiry. “Safety concerns regarding the outside decks” were raised. Disturbances in postal traffic also meant that many supply packages addressed to the ship were lost in transit for months.

US military rejects reports

The US military rejected the reports. The aircraft carrier “USS Abraham Lincoln” has one of the highest crew re-enlistment rates of all in the US Navy at 84.4 percent, the US command responsible for the region, Centcom, announced on Platform X. Such a rate describes the proportion of soldiers who voluntarily remain in the military after their contract period has expired.
