US President Biden urges Israel to be cautious with regard to Iran. Republican presidential candidate Trump sees it completely differently.
Unlike US President Joe Biden, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has spoken out in favor of an Israeli attack on Iranian nuclear facilities. Referring to a statement by Biden about Israel’s possible response to the recent Iranian missile attack, Trump said: “His answer should have been: Target the nuclear facilities first and worry about the rest later,” the Republican said at a campaign rally in North Carolina .
The Democrat Biden spoke out against a possible attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities in response to a question from a reporter this week. He had previously urged Israel to carefully consider its response to the Iranian missile attack.
At the campaign event, Trump emphasized that nuclear weapons were the greatest risk of all. You have to be prepared. “We have to be fully prepared. If they want to do it, they will do it,” Trump added, referring to Israel. “But we’ll find out whatever their plans are.”
On Tuesday, the Revolutionary Guards, Iran’s elite force, fired around 200 rockets at Israel. The attack came after a series of targeted killings by Israel targeting key players in Iran’s network of non-state allies, including senior Revolutionary Guard commanders.
Former President Trump has so far remained remarkably silent about the recent escalation in the Middle East. At the beginning of the week, he only released a sharp statement in which he blamed Biden and his Vice President Kamala Harris for the escalating tensions.
