CHIEF OF GENERAL STAFF CAME TO Türkiye

Polish Chief of General Staff, General Wiesław Kukuła, closely examined the Turkish-made TAYFUN ballistic missile at ROKETSAN facilities. According to the statement of the Polish Armed Forces, TRG and TRLG guided rockets and ALKA, PUSU and SUNGUR air defense systems were also introduced to the delegation. The visit took place within the scope of Poland’s efforts to develop its long-range precision strike capacity.

MORE THAN 5 TIMES THE SPEED OF SOUND

Developed by ROKETSAN, TAYFUN stands out as a land-launched short-range ballistic missile family. In its first test in October 2022, TAYFUN hit the target 561 kilometers away in 458 seconds. It is stated that the missile can reach speeds exceeding five times the speed of sound. TAYFUN’s high speed and precision strike ability are important for its ability to overcome air defenses.

10 METERS OF NEW BALLISTIC POWER

TAYFUN Block-4, introduced in July 2025, has a length of approximately 10 meters, a diameter of 610 millimeters and a weight of 7.3 tons. ROKETSAN states that the new model offers higher speed and range than the previous version. Although the official range has not been announced, international defense sources estimate that it can reach approximately 1000 kilometers.

POLAND’S LONG RANGE NEED

The Polish army can hit targets at a distance of approximately 300 kilometers with its existing ATACMS and South Korean-made CTM-290 missiles. Brigadier General Grzegorz Potuszki stated that the Ukrainian war showed that much longer-range precision weapons were needed. Warsaw is evaluating ballistic and cruise missiles that can reach targets beyond 1,000 kilometers.
