In the Global Cities Index prepared by Oxford Economics, cities around the world were evaluated in 5 main categories. Oxford Economics has been published annually global cities index. In the index, the world’s largest thousand cities in 163 countries are analyzed through 27 indicators in 5 main categories. The main categories are listed as economy, human capital, quality of life, environment and governance.

This New York, London and Paris, which is leading in terms of economic activities and qualified labor potential, maintained their leading position in the field of international finance and education. In the living standards category, cities like San Jose and Seattle on the west coast of America managed to leave Paris behind.

The first 8 cities in the index did not vary this year, but Sydney has become one of the top 10 this year with improvement in life quality and growth in the Boston economy. With a $ 2.5 trillion economy and a population of 20.7 million, he took part at the top of the New York list. New York, which has a general score in these categories, was followed by London with a trillion dollar economy. Thus, New York and London settled at the top of the list for the second time in a row. Paris, San Jose and Seattle left New York and London behind in terms of quality of life. Paris stands out with its world -wide cultural assets and high life expectancy, while San Jose and Seattle are among the world’s largest income levels.

The Index ranked 106, Ankara 277, Antalya 374, Izmit 383 and Bursa 405th. Istanbul ranks 15th among a thousand cities in terms of human capital.
