Researchers from the University of Ohio State designed the system called “E-Taste”.

This system uses the corresponding chemicals that correspond to 5 basic tastes to convert the tastes of food and beverages into digital data to imitate.

The flavors are then converted to digital data through sensors and the corresponding chemicals are transferred to certain parts of the language.

Researchers, a group of 10 people produced by the system has supervised different sources. The accuracy of the system to imitate the tastes was 70 percent.

In another experiment, more complex flavors such as lemonade, cake, field eggs, coffee and fish soup were offered more complex flavors. In this, the accurate matching rate of the system was determined as 87 percent.

Taste experience can also be integrated into virtual reality technologies.

With this system, it is recorded that the experience of tasting virtual reality technologies can be integrated. In addition, biomedical research, online shopping, distance education, weight control and physical rehabilitation process may be useful.

It was reported that more work should be done on the system, which is stated that it cannot fully mimic spicy and fatty flavors and could not affect the factors such as odor that contributes to the taste experience.

The results of the research were published in the magazine “Science Advances”.
