New platform from Google and the Ministry of Industry and Technology: Artificial Intelligence for Everyone

Today, artificial intelligence is not only on the agenda of technology companies. This technology, which transforms many areas from education to production, from health to media, also reshapes the competitiveness of countries. However, the decisive factor in this race is not just having technology; To train human resources who can use it, develop it and transform it into economic value.

For this reason, it would be incomplete to see the “Artificial Intelligence for Everyone” platform, implemented by Google and the Ministry of Industry and Technology of the Republic of Turkey, as just an educational project. Because in the artificial intelligence race, not only algorithms are competing, but also societies that understand and use those algorithms.

According to data shared by Public First, artificial intelligence has the potential to contribute up to $96 billion annually to Türkiye’s GDP by 2035. This figure clearly reveals that artificial intelligence is now not only a technological but also an economic transformation topic.

In the promotion of the platform, TR Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır placed human resources at the center of this transformation and said:

“In line with our National Technology Move vision, we aim to position Türkiye as a leading country in the age of artificial intelligence that not only consumes technology but also produces value and economic potential on a global scale. The key to this great transformation and sustainable development is to maximize the competencies of our human resources and spread artificial intelligence literacy to all segments of society.”

This statement shows that in the age of artificial intelligence, the real investment is made in people, not in technology. Because it is not just data centers or algorithms that will determine the difference between countries; It will be how quickly society can learn this technology and integrate it into its daily life and production processes.

The words of Google Türkiye Country Director Mehmet Keteloğlu also support this approach:

“We know that it is not the technology itself that reveals the true potential of artificial intelligence, but the people who use it. With our ‘Artificial Intelligence for Everyone’ platform, we are determined to equip Türkiye’s workforce, businesses, students, software developers and the public sector with the core competencies that will carry them to success in this new digital age.”

The platform, which is accessible completely free of charge, offers more than 7 thousand minutes of educational content on 16 different subjects. Curriculum; It covers a wide range from basic awareness training to modules for businesses, professionals, students, software developers and public employees.

One of the striking aspects of the platform is its three-layer learning model:

* Artificial Intelligence Learners: Provides basic artificial intelligence literacy and awareness to the general public.

* Artificial Intelligence Practitioners: Helping professionals and businesses make business processes more efficient.

* Artificial Intelligence Innovators: Offering solutions for engineering teams with deep technical expertise.

However, there is a critical point here: Access to artificial intelligence and artificial intelligence competence are not the same thing.

A society may have the most advanced tools at its disposal. However, unless the knowledge and skills to use those tools effectively become widespread, technology may turn into a merely consumed product rather than creating an economic leap.

Perhaps the real question we should ask today is this:

Will Türkiye be a country that uses artificial intelligence, or will it be among the countries that produce and export it?

The answer to this question is not only in technology investments; It is hidden in the artificial intelligence competence of every segment of society, from students to employees, from entrepreneurs to public institutions. Because the most strategic investment in the age of artificial intelligence will be the investment in people as well as in technology.
