BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul started the week with a decrease of 1.62 percent at 12,689.87 points.
BIST 100 index at Borsa Istanbul, which followed a buying-oriented trend on Friday, closed the day at 12,899.35 points, gaining 0.09 percent in value.
The index dropped to 12,689.87 points at the opening today, with a decrease of 209.47 points and 1.62 percent compared to the previous closing. The banking index lost 1.59 percent and the holding index lost 2.24 percent.
Among the sector indices, the only gainer was sports with 0.36 percent, and the biggest decrease was financial leasing factoring with 8.41 percent.
Global markets started the week with selling pressure due to the geopolitical tension that increased after US President Donald Trump rejected Iran’s 7-day ceasefire offer to open the Strait of Hormuz to traffic.
Developments within the scope of ongoing fund investigations are followed domestically.
The Capital Markets Board (CMB) announced that the purchase and sale orders regarding the funds subject to liquidation, transmitted through the Turkish Electronic Fund Trading Platform (TEFAS) on September 17, 2026 and canceled by the platform, will be covered from the liquidation balance in proportion to the participation share ownership in the fund.
Instructions that were submitted to TEFAS on and before September 16, but could not be fulfilled due to the relevant fund’s default or failure to disclose a price, were also included in the scope of liquidation.
Analysts stated that today the data agenda is calm in the country and the September Dallas Fed manufacturing industry index in the USA will be followed abroad, and noted that technically, 12,500 and 12,400 points in the BIST 100 index are support, and 12,800 and 12,900 points are resistance.
