BIST 100 index at Borsa Istanbul started the day at 12,161.15 points with a 0.09 percent increase.
BIST 100 index at Borsa Istanbul, which followed a sales-oriented trend yesterday, finished the day at 12,150.67 points, losing 0.94 percent of its value.
The index rose to 12,161.15 points at the opening today, with an increase of 10.48 points and 0.09 percent compared to the previous closing. While the banking index gained 0.41 percent in value, the holding index decreased by 0.31 percent.
Among the sector indices, the one that gained the most was sports with 0.57 percent, and the one that decreased the most was financial leasing factoring with 4.73 percent.
Global markets are mixed due to the increase in geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and the decline in technology stocks.
Analysts stated that balance of payments statistics in the country and ADP weekly private sector employment and second-hand housing sales in the USA will be followed abroad today, and noted that technically, 12,300 and 12,400 points in the BIST 100 index are resistance and 12,000 and 11,900 points are support.
Economists participating in the AA Finance Balance of Payments Expectations Survey predicted that the current account would have a surplus of 3 billion 502.9 million dollars in August. Economists predicted that the current account would have a deficit of $48 billion this year.
