BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul started the day with a decrease of 0.23 percent at 14,038.17 points.

The index dropped to 14,038.17 points at the opening today, with a decrease of 32.81 points and 0.23 percent compared to the previous closing. The banking index gained 0.47 percent and the holding index gained 0.55 percent.
Among the sector indices, the highest gain was mining with 1.62 percent, and the biggest decrease was financial leasing factoring with 9.03 percent.
Despite the rise in chip stocks, global markets remain mixed due to the risks arising from the US/Israel-Iran War and the extreme volatility in oil prices.
Despite the rise in the shares of chip manufacturers and the increasing hopes that the USA and Iran can sit at the negotiation table again, the continuation of conflicts in the Middle East causes the search for direction in the markets to come to the fore.
On the other hand, the announcement by the Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen that they “started to impose a naval blockade” against Saudi Arabia caused optimism that geopolitical tensions would ease.
Analysts stated that the data agenda is calm in the country today, and that the ZEW economic confidence index will be followed abroad in Germany and the Eurozone. Technically, 14,000 and 13,900 points in the BIST 100 index are support, while 14,200 and 14,300 points are resistance.
