Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index lost 1.34 percent of its value in the first half of the day, falling to 9,269.85 points.

BIST 100 index, which moved in a downward trend in the first half of the day, dropped to 9,269.85 points as of 13.00, a decrease of 125.54 points compared to the previous closing. The total transaction volume was 41.6 billion lira.

While the banking index gained 2.1 percent, the holding index lost 1.27 percent.

Among the sector indices, the only gainer was real estate investment trust with 1.09 percent, and the biggest decliner was banking.

Global markets are following a mixed course due to the strengthening of pricing that the US Federal Reserve (Fed) may end its interest rate cuts later than expected.

Concern that the war between Russia and Ukraine may intensify again and the tension may spread to other countries also supports the selling pressure.

Analysts stated that the data agenda is calm in the country today, while housing starts and construction permits will be followed abroad in the USA, and noted that technically, the 9,250 and 9,150 levels in the BIST 100 index are support, while 9,400 and 9,500 points are resistance.
