The BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul lost 0.86 percent of its value in the first half of the day, falling to 8,762.44 points.

BIST 100 index, which moved in a downward trend in the first half of the day, dropped to 8,762.44 points as of 13.00, a decrease of 76.16 points compared to the previous closing. The total transaction volume was 28.1 billion lira.

The banking index lost 2.01 percent and the holding index lost 0.60 percent.

Among the sector indices, the one that gained the most was forest paper printing with 0.96 percent, and the one that decreased the most was banking.

Global markets are following a mixed course as investors remain cautious despite the fact that company profitability is mostly better than expectations during the balance sheet season, which is concentrated in the USA.

Analysts predict that the domestic data agenda will be calm for the rest of the day, while abroad, mortgage applications, second-hand home sales and the Fed’s Beige Book report in the USA, and consumer confidence index and European Central Bank (ECB) President Christine in the Eurozone. Stating that Lagarde’s statements will be followed, he noted that technically, 8,600 and 8,490 points in the BIST 100 index are support, and 8,900 and 9,000 levels are resistance.
