The Draft General Communiqué on Exit Fee Application was published on the website of the Revenue Administration (GİB) and opened to public opinion.

The draft was prepared within the scope of paper saving measures and green transformation.

The fee for going abroad can be paid against a receipt at tax offices, goods directorates, customs accountancy offices, revenue accounting directorates, authorized banks and PTT cashiers before going abroad. Traveling abroad fees can also be paid through the Digital Tax Office and mobile applications of the Revenue Administration, as well as the internet banking and mobile banking applications of authorized banks.

With the regulation coming into force, as of January 1, 2025, the method of paying the fee with an “exit fee stamp” will be abolished. However, the travel abroad fee stamps issued over 500 Turkish liras, which are valid as of the end of 2024, will be valid until January 10. With this regulation, the “fee stamp”, which is usually issued after payment of the fee at airports and ports, will be dated.

Payments made electronically can be checked through the system, and upon check-out, the fee amount will be recorded in the system where it is used.
