Networks in electric age should be flexible and digital
Fakir Hüseyin Erdoğan, the Secretary General of ELDER, stated that they define the energy transformation as “electrical age”, said that this transformation is felt deeper day by day from industry to agriculture, from buildings to transportation sector.
Erdogan pointed out that the use of artificial intelligence, data centers, electric vehicles and heat pumps increases the electricity demand with the rapid spread of electrification, “Distributed production, energy storage and micro -network consumers also make consumers at the same time. The effects of the climate crisis make more resistant and flexible networks.” He said.
According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), Erdoğan pointed out that the global network investment should reach $ 700 billion by 2030 and said:
“In Türkiye, the network investments, which are approximately 2 billion dollars annually, need to be increased. IEA also states that the short -term flexibility capacity in important electricity markets around the world is obliged to increase more than 2030 by 2030. This situation once again reveals that green and digital transformation investments cannot be postponed. And it is a strategic necessity in terms of climate policies, but it can be built with the right steps of today. “
