Spotify has introduced its new standalone app, Studio by Spotify Labs, which allows users to create daily digests, podcasts and playlists. This application, which can be accessed via computer, produces personalized content with the commands given by users.

Spotify is also joining the trend of producing audio summaries and podcasts with artificial intelligence, which has been popularized recently by companies such as Google and Adobe. Taking one of its most ambitious steps in AI to date, the company announced its new Studio application during the investor event held yesterday. Studio can create completely personalized podcasts using users’ personal data.

Studio will be available as a standalone desktop application and will prepare podcast episodes created by artificial intelligence in line with the commands given by the user.

One of the most important elements that distinguishes Studio from similar tools is that it does not rely solely on the information it collects from the internet. If the user gives permission, the application will be able to produce personalized content by accessing personal data such as calendar, e-mail, notes and reservations.

Daily summaries and podcasts created with Studio can be saved directly to the Spotify library. The app will be available as an exploratory preview for users 18 and over in the coming weeks.

Platforms such as Google NotebookLM, Amazon Alexa Plus and Microsoft Edge also offer similar solutions for artificial intelligence-supported podcast production. Unlike these applications, Spotify integrates these new tools directly into its platform because it already offers an audio-focused experience to its users.

Spotify notes that the Studio app is only designed to create daily digests, podcasts, and playlists, not to produce music. The company aims to enable users to produce content suitable for their morning routine directly within the application.
