Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu stated that the domestic high-speed train will be put on the rails in the last quarter of 2025 and dynamic road tests will be carried out after the factory static tests are completed, and said, “Our high-speed train to be produced by TÜRASAŞ will reach a speed of 225 kilometers per hour, and each set will have 8 wagons with a total passenger capacity of 584 people.”

Uraloğlu, in his written statement, stated that the National High Speed Train, whose construction is ongoing, was produced entirely with domestic means.

Stating that the design work will be completed in the last quarter of this year and the assembly phase will begin, Uraloğlu said, “Following the completion of the factory static tests in the National High-Speed Train Project, the domestic high-speed train will be put on the rails in the last quarter of 2025 and dynamic road tests will be conducted.”

Minister Uraloğlu emphasized that the National High Speed Train Project is a very important step for the future of Turkey, drawing attention to the fact that high-speed trains are designed to provide high comfort.

“OUR INVESTMENTS CONTINUE TO BEAR FRUITS”

Pointing out that Turkey has become a self-sufficient country in the production of railway vehicles, Uraloğlu noted the following:

“Our investments in transportation and infrastructure continue to bear fruit. Turkey has now become a country that designs, produces and develops technology in railways. We started passenger services with national electric train sets on May 27, 2023. After our national electric train, we are also building our national high-speed train. Our high-speed train, which will be produced by TÜRASAŞ, will reach a speed of 225 kilometers per hour. Each set will have 8 wagons with a total passenger capacity of 584 people.”

Uraloğlu stated that the high-speed train sets were produced with the latest technology equipment and drew attention to the fact that the train will offer maximum comfort to the passengers with its ghost screen technology integrated into the doors and partition walls, folding tables with contactless fast charging stations, comfortable leather and fabric seat design, 3-dimensional ghost screen technology in the bistro area, indirect lighting system and spacious interior design.

Uraloğlu, who stated that the “National Traction System and Train Control Management System” developed in partnership with TÜBİTAK-Rail Transportation Technologies Institute will be used in the High Speed Train Project, said, “Thanks to this, the critical sub-components that make up the train set were also produced with domestic and national means. After the completion of all design processes of our project, which is carried out in accordance with international standards, the assembly phase will begin in the last quarter of 2024.”
