After TÜİK announced the December inflation figures, as of January 2025, SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees will receive an increased salary of 15.75 percent, and retired civil servants and civil servants will receive an increased salary of 11.54 percent. With this increase, unless an adjustment is made on the root salary, the lowest pension will remain unchanged for those whose salary is 10,383 TL and below and will remain at 12,500 TL.

So, is additional raise for retirees and civil servants on the agenda? Will there be an additional raise with the welfare share? An expert on the subject evaluated the possibilities. Okan Güray Bülbül, writer of Akşam newspaper and social security expert, who wrote about the issue in his column, said, “When we look at the inflation and raise rates in January and July last year, there was a raise rate of 49.25 percent for civil servants and civil servant retirees in January, and 37.57 percent for SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees. “However, with Law No. 7495, the raise rate for all retired and serving civil servants was increased to 49.25 percent.” he said.

Bülbül continued as follows: In July, this time, a raise of 24.73 percent was given for SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees, and 19.31 percent for retired civil servants and civil servants. However, this time the 5-point gap for civil servants and retired civil servants was not closed. Now, current civil servants and retired civil servants are waiting for the 4.2 point raise gap to be closed. In this context, it may be possible to increase the raise rate to 20 percent or 25 percent for all retired and serving civil servants, together with the welfare share.

“Currently, retirees are paid a minimum of 12,500 TL. The 15.75 percent increase in the January salaries of SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees will be made based on their root pensions. For this reason, retirees with root pensions of 10,383 TL and below are at risk of not receiving any raise at all.
