The process to determine the new minimum wage, which directly concerns 7 million employees and indirectly the whole society, continues.
The commission, which held its first meeting on December 10 and its second meeting on December 16, will hold its third meeting at 11.30 on Thursday, December 19, hosted by the Ministry, under the chairmanship of the Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan.
At the meeting, the employers’ side will be represented by the Confederation of Turkish Employers’ Associations (TİSK), and the workers’ side will be represented by TÜRK-İŞ, as it is the confederation with the most members.
After the third meeting, the fourth meeting is expected to be held as soon as possible and the minimum wage figure that will be valid in 2025 is expected to be determined within the next week.
CURRENT MINIMUM WAGE NET 17 THOUSAND 2 LIRA
The minimum wage is currently applied as 20 thousand 2 lira and 50 kuruş gross per month for a worker, and as a net 17 thousand 2 lira 12 kuruş when deductions are reduced.
The total cost of the minimum wage to the employer is 23 thousand 502 liras and 94 kuruş for one worker. Of this, 20 thousand 2 liras and 50 cents are gross minimum wage, 3 thousand 100 liras and 39 cents are social security premiums, and 400 liras and 5 cents are employer unemployment insurance fund.
Minimum wage figure; It affects many items, including unemployment benefits, severance pay, GSS premiums, military service and maternity debt, optional insurance premiums, internship fees, and report fees of minimum wage earners.
