According to the news of India Today newspaper, the New Delhi High Court discussed the case filed by Telegram objecting to the decision in question.
The court stated that the Indian administration had “justified” reasons for taking this step and ruled that this “proportionate” decision should remain in force.
WHAT HAPPENED?
An important decision was made on June 16, before the medical school entrance exam, which was held in India in May but was canceled after allegations that the questions were leaked, and will be held again on June 21.
The Indian administration had restricted access to the Russia-based social media platform Telegram on the grounds that exam questions could be leaked and allowed for cheating.
2.28 million candidates participated in the exam, the first of which was held on May 3 in more than 5 thousand centers. Dozens of people were detained regarding the leak allegations that led to the cancellation of the exam.
On the other hand, internet users and human rights defenders stated that there were bigger problems with corruption in the exams and described the step in question as a “temporary solution”.
