Türkiye is preparing to introduce the world’s first low-altitude UAV, ‘Talay’, to the global defense market. The defined mission capabilities of the naval UAV Talay, which has a very low probability of being detected by radars as it can fly close to the water surface, include highly strategic capabilities such as being able to neutralize enemy ships and military bases close to sea level. Talay UAV, which can reach a speed of 200 km, operates for 3 hours continuously and moves faster than all combat platforms at sea. UAV developed by Solid Aeroro company headquartered in Ankara; It draws attention with its 2.6 meter wingspan and 2 meter body length. Talay UAV, which can fly at an altitude of 30 centimeters above the sea surface, represents a first in its class in the world with this feature. While Talay can rise up to 150 meters when necessary; It also has the ability to carry 30 kilograms of ammunition. The model development process of the UAV, whose system and flight tests are ongoing, is planned to be completed within 3 months.
HISTORICAL AGREEMENT
On the other hand, another important development for the Turkish Defense Industry was the historical agreement signed by Baykar company with NATO. US-based international defense publication Militaryleaks; Its headline included the historical agreement signed between NATO and the Baykar company, which produces the TB2 Bayraktar UAV, which has become Turkey’s symbol in the international defense sector. Thanks to the three-year agreement between the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) and Baykar, the operational impact of the TB2s sold by Turkey to Poland will be maintained.

According to the information provided by the publication, NSPA and Baykar; Poland’s military capability and modernization efforts will be supported with the agreement covering the logistics service and maintenance of TB2s exported to Poland. With the agreement signed with the Polish Armed Forces Support Inspectorate, TB-2s are planned to serve for many years.
