It was decided to support the production investment facility ready for assembly with the training and light black offensive aircraft to be held in Kayseri and the decision to provide project -based state aid to investments (super incentives).

The company will make a fixed investment of approximately 9.5 billion TL for the investment that started in 2023 and spread over 6 years.

Approximately 1000 people of 150 qualified people will be employed directly in the facility which will be implemented within the scope of the investment. In addition, it will create an ecosystem of thousands of people with high technology subcontracting in the city and surrounding provinces.

The facility will have a production capacity for 12 training and light offensive aircraft per year. 2016 tons of aircraft parts and 84 main component level aircraft parts can be produced annually.

With the demand of Hürjet in international markets, the annual capacity is planned to be increased to 24 and then 48 aircraft.

Within the scope of the incentive decision to the project, opportunities such as customs tax exemption, VAT exemption, tax reduction, 10 -year insurance premium employer share support, qualified personnel support and investment place allocation will be provided.

Opening of the assembly factory in the 100th year

Tomtaş General Manager and Board Member Ali Ekşi, AA correspondent, said that they have been carrying out an intensive work for 2 years in order to contribute to Türkiye’s defense and aviation projects and to realize exports in this field.

Emphasizing that they have taken significant distances in a short time with their infrastructure, training and certification activities, Ekşi said that they have signed a contract for the component level assembly service for 12 aircraft as an approved supplier of Turkish Aviation and Space Industry (TUSAŞ) in the Hürjet project in October 2024.

Ekşi emphasized that they are proud to be part of the Hürjet project with the confidence of TUSAŞ.

“We aim to make Kayseri a center in aviation with the power we have received from Tomtaş’s rooted history. Hürjet will open its door. Tomtaş was established on August 15, 1925. When we came to get a project -based incentive certificate, we brought a handcrafted silver scissors from Kayseri to the 100th anniversary of the company.”

Hürjet will be shaped in this facility

Tomtaş was founded in January 2023 with 51 percent Tomtaş Yatırım AŞ, 29 percent TUSAŞ, 19 percent asphalt and 1 percent Erciyes Teknopark partnership.

Firstly, in June 2023, a chip manufacturing factory was established within the Kayseri Mimarsinan Organized Industrial Zone. Last year, R & D and Engineering Office and Ankara Engineering and Design Office were launched in Kayseri.

In the second half of this year, the Hürjet assembly factory will start operations. In 2027, alongside Kayseri Airport, Tomtaş Aviation Campus will be commissioned.

Tomtaş will provide 12 aircraft and 60 component level assembly services within the scope of the contract signed for the Hürjet Block-ı project.

In this context, the front body of the aircraft, middle body, rear body, wing boxes, tail assemblies will be carried out as of October and the Block Agreement will be completed in February 2027.

The only facility where Hürjet’s component level installation will be made will reach the potential to perform parts production, assembly, maintenance and repair activities to global aviation companies with the knowledge and experience to be formed.

Tomtaş’s 6 -year fixed investment amount with steps to achieve these goals is expected to go far beyond 9.5 billion pounds.
