US Army launches new wave of attacks

After the US bombed targets in Iran on Sunday night, Tehran declared the Strait of Hormuz closed. Now there are attacks again.
According to media reports, the US military has again targeted… Iran attacked. The attacks were directed against missile sites and air defense systems, reported the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times, citing US government officials. Boats belonging to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard were also attacked. The responsible regional command, Centcom, did not comment on the reports when asked.
The attacks are intended to prevent Iran from attacking merchant ships in the Strait of Hormuz to attack. It is already the fourth wave of attacks USAsince hostilities flared up again on Wednesday night.
UN Secretary-General António Guterres said on Platform X that he was deeply concerned about the “significant escalation”. A return to full-scale hostilities would have catastrophic consequences for regional security and the global economy. “I urge Iran and the United States to immediately resume negotiations and resolve outstanding issues through diplomatic channels.”
Iran speaks of “hostile attacks”
Iran also reported another explosion on its southern coast on Sunday evening. The Iranian news agency Tasnim reported detonations in the port city of Bandar Abbas and near the island of Gheshm in the Persian Gulf. There was initially no information about the cause.
The state news agency Irna spoke of “hostile attacks” on military installations in Bandar Abbas. Accordingly, successive explosions were heard in several parts of the city.
The pro-government news agency Mehr also reported one death on the island of Gheschm. Accordingly, the head of the telecommunications authority in Hormuzgan province died during a repair operation. Two other employees were injured. It initially remained unclear exactly when the incident occurred.

Iran attacks countries in the region
On Saturday, the USA said it had already bombed around 140 Iranian military targets along the southern coast. It was the third wave of attacks in a week. Iran said it responded with missile and drone attacks on targets JordanKuwait, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates.
Meanwhile, the US President objected Donald Trump Iranian information on the Strait of Hormuz. “She’s open,” Trump said on NBC’s “Meet the Press.” The US regional command Centcom, which is responsible for the region, also stated on Platform X that the strategically important strait remains an international waterway and is not controlled by Iran.
