BIST 100 index at Borsa Istanbul reached a record level of 11,252.11 points in the first half of the day.
BIST 100 index, which reached an all-time high of 11,252.11 points in the first half of the day, gained 55.67 points and 0.50 percent compared to the previous close at 13:00 and reached 11,189.74. Total transaction volume was 52.2 billion liras.
While the banking index lost 0.40 percent of its value, the holding index gained 0.15 percent.
Among the sector indices, the one that gained the most was forestry, paper and printing with 2.25 percent, while the one that lost the most was food and beverage with 1.31 percent.
Analysts said that a mixed trend was observed in global stock markets as the selling pressure in technology stocks spread throughout the world, and that all eyes today turned to the monetary policy decisions of the European Central Bank (ECB).
Analysts noted that today, an intensive data agenda, especially the ECB’s interest rate decision, will be followed abroad, and noted that from a technical perspective, 11,250 and 11,350 points are resistance in the BIST 100 index, while 11,000 and 10,900 levels are support.
