Zorlu Energy made a statement regarding its natural gas power plants in Israel. The company, which signed a deal to sell its shares in the Ramat Negev and Ashdod power plants in Israel in May, announced that it will also transfer its shares in the Dorad power plant. The statement included the following statements:
“As Zorlu Energy Group, we would like to inform the public about the news in the press about the Dorad Natural Gas Power Plant in which we have been a minority partner in Israel since 2003.

We completed the signing of our contracts for the sale and transfer of our shares in the Ashdod and Ramat Negev Natural Gas Power Plants in Israel in May and shared this information with the public. However, we do not have the authority to make or disregard any decisions in the Dorad Natural Gas Power Plant, where we are a 25 percent minority shareholder. We cannot influence any decision made by other partners who form a majority in the power plant, which is managed in accordance with Israeli law.

We continue our efforts to remove our shares in the Dorad Power Plant from our portfolio as soon as possible, taking into consideration all our stakeholders, especially our investors, just as we did in the Ashdod and Ramat Negev Natural Gas Power Plants. We will share the developments with the public in a complete and timely manner.

We would like the accusations and comments against our company, which has been operating in Turkey for thirty years and serves our country’s economic and social development plans in a strategic area such as the energy sector, and other companies in our group to be evaluated with common sense in this context. We are extremely saddened, like our entire country, by what civilians and innocent people have gone through, and we sincerely wish for peace to be achieved as soon as possible.
