Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan: “Will the pension differences that vary from year to year change?” He answered the question.

Minister Işıkhan, who made a statement at the AA Editor’s Desk, said:

“In some periods, when inflation is high, such issues may come to the agenda. Differences regarding monthly payment rates may arise. We cannot think of playing too much with the retirement system. I know that our ministries are also sensitive about this issue. Here it is necessary to examine the issue carefully and frequently. Over time, as the SSI and the Ministry, I would like to give the message that our employees need to work harder. Retirement is already a right. We will all retire after a certain period of time, but our request from our citizens is this: We need to work and produce while they are healthy. We can predict that their pensions will be higher.

We are not at a point where we can interfere with our citizens’ retirement decisions. Those who have now completed the period and their rights can submit their petition and become entitled to a pension. I request them to choose to stay and work in the system. We need more SSI premiums. “There is a need to produce more to leave a sustainable system.”

“NO STUDY ON THE COMPLEMENTARY PENSION SYSTEM”

Işıkhan said, “There is no question of working on the complementary retirement system. There are concerns that it will replace severance pay. Workers and employers should be at ease on this issue.”

MINIMUM WAGE FOR 2025

Işıkhan said about the 2025 minimum wage: “I hope that it will be determined at a level that will improve living standards and not harm the general stability and structure of our economy.”
