Sony announced the PlayStation 5 console on November 19, 2020.
After months of leaks, Sony has announced a more powerful PS5 console during a special technical presentation.
Mark Cerny, the chief architect of the PS5 console, introduced the PlayStation 5 Pro. Cerny stated that it improved the original console in three main ways, explaining that there will be a larger GPU, advanced ray tracing, and special artificial intelligence-focused upgrades. Here’s what you need to know about the PS5…
PS5 PRO FEATURES
Upgraded GPU
The PS5 Pro moves to a GPU with 67 percent more Compute Units and 28 percent faster memory than the current PS5 console. Overall, this provides up to 45 percent faster processing for games, making the experience much smoother.
Advanced Ray Tracing
Even more powerful ray tracing has been added, enabling more dynamic reflection and refraction of light. This allows rays to be fired at twice, and sometimes three times, the speed of the current PS5 console.
AI-Driven Upgrade
Also included is PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution, an AI-driven upgrade that uses machine learning-based technology to deliver super-sharp image clarity while adding an extraordinary amount of detail.
INTERNATIONAL PRICE HAS BEEN ANNOUNCED
The price of the PlayStation 5 Pro, which was announced to be released on November 7, 2024, was determined as 799 euros abroad.
It was noted that the PS5 Pro will have 2TBB SSD storage and will be offered for sale as a diskless console.
It has been reported that there will also be an option to purchase the Disc Drive separately for the PS5.
Pre-orders will begin on September 26, 2024.
