Many couples celebrate the day of lovers with romantic gestures. But why not think less romantic and more practical?
Freshly in love and ready to contract? Then couples can share more than just rent. Because even some insurance contracts are not needed twice. The overall association of the German Insurance Industry (GDV) explains which contracts can be merged:
Private liability insurance is one of the most important insurance. It does if policyholder damage third parties. Couples who live together do not need two separate contracts – rather, one can include the other in his contract. According to the GDV, the superfluous second policy can then be terminated at the end of an insurance year.
Household insurance replaces the apartment facility, for example, after a break -in, water damage or an apartment fire. If there is only one household, you only need a policy. With the merging, the second contract can usually be terminated without any problems. But be careful: You may have to adjust the sum insured in the joint household insurance – for example because the household increases or expensive joint purchases are added.
In the case of legal protection insurance, which for insured persons pays for lawyers and court costs for insured persons, one partner can usually have the other in the contract. According to the GDV, the prerequisite for this is that the couple live together and that legal protection insurance is not a single tariff. A demand from the provider or intermediary provides information.
