Share assets of domestic investors reached 6.3 trillion lira

Stock assets of domestic investors increased by 32.2 percent in the first half of the year, reaching approximately 6.3 trillion lira.

Turkish Capital Markets Association (TSPB) announced the Financial Market Summary Data for June 2026.

According to the data compiled by TSPB from the sources of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) and the Central Registry Agency (MKK), the total financial assets of domestic resident (domestic investors) investors increased by 12.4 percent in the first six months of 2026, reaching approximately 49 trillion 684 billion lira.

The data revealed that the stock assets of domestic investors, which were 4 trillion 762 billion liras at the end of 2025, grew by 32.2 percent in six months and reached 6 trillion 295 billion liras at the end of June 2026.

Despite the war between the USA and Israel and Iran, considering the 6-month inflation rate of 17.76 percent in the first half of this year, domestic investors’ stock assets recorded a real growth well above inflation.

The data revealed that domestic investors’ stock assets increased by 61.9 percent in a year covering the period between June 2025 and June 2026, providing a real growth above the annual inflation of 32.11 percent.

As of the end of June 2026, 1 trillion 792 billion liras of the stock assets of domestic investors, which are 6 trillion 295 billion liras, belong to institutional investors, 1 trillion 664 billion liras belong to legal entities, and 2 trillion 839 billion liras belong to individual investors.

INSTITUTIONAL INVESTOR SHARE ASSET INCREASED BY 60.4 PERCENT

MKK data revealed that institutional investors’ stock holdings increased by a high rate of 60.4 percent in the first 6 months of this year.

In the same period, the stock assets of individual domestic investors increased by 25.6 percent, and the stock assets of domestic legal entities increased by 20.2 percent.

According to the data announced by TSPB, the financial assets of domestic investors, which were 44.2 trillion lira at the end of 2025, grew by 12.4 percent in six months and increased to approximately 49.7 trillion lira at the end of June 2026.

The financial assets of domestic investors increased by 36.3 percent in the year covering the period between June 2025 and June 2026. In the first half of 2026, the highest growth in the financial assets of domestic investors was experienced in lease certificate, asset-backed securities (AVC) and asset-backed securities (AVC) assets, with a rate of 38.1 percent.

In the first half of this year, private eurobond assets of domestic investors increased by 6.2 percent to 1 trillion 959 billion liras, and public eurobond assets increased by 1 percent to 2 trillion 378 billion liras.

Financial Market Summary Data for June 2025 announced by the Turkish Capital Markets Association revealed that the financial assets of foreign investors increased at a low rate, as did the financial assets of domestic investors.

According to the data, the financial assets of non-residents (foreign investors), which were 5 trillion 53 billion liras at the end of 2025, increased by 9.3 percent in the first half of this year and reached 5 trillion 523 billion liras at the end of June.

Financial assets of foreign investors increased by 36.3 percent in a year covering the period between June 2025 and June 2026. Among the total assets of foreign investors, the fastest growth in the first half of the year was experienced in assets in private sector debt instruments with a rate of 264.4 percent.

Data revealed that foreign investors’ assets in private sector debt instruments increased to 96.6 billion lira at the end of June 2026.

Foreign investors’ assets in foreign currency deposit accounts increased by 8.3 percent in six months, reaching 1 trillion 43 billion liras, and their assets in TL deposits increased by 11.1 percent in the same period, reaching 520.8 billion liras.

According to TSPB Summary data, the stock assets of foreign investors, which were approximately 2 trillion 710 billion liras at the end of 2025, increased by 10.7 percent in six months and reached approximately 3 trillion liras as of the end of June this year.
