Teknofest Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Turkish Technology Team Foundation (T3 Foundation), Selçuk Bayraktar, mentioned that there are many competitions held within Teknofest and said that all of these competitions have a different meaning.
Emphasizing the “Technology for the Benefit of Humanity” competition, Bayraktar stated that his daughter also participated in this competition this year to ensure that the younger generation is curious and interested in these fields.
BAYRAKTAR KIZILELMA’S PRODUCTION PROTOTYPE PASSED THE TEST
Bayraktar said, “They placed a GPS receiver in the shoes worn by children and made an application that sends a message to their parents when the child gets lost. He even became a finalist, but they did not qualify, and he was even very upset, saying ‘Won’t I be able to come to Adana?’ ‘ he cried a lot, and I said ‘You are still very young, you have years ahead of you.’ I said, “He was a finalist, but he didn’t qualify. I think they came in 12th or 15th place. They are still very young. He cried a lot to come to Adana. ‘Our project is very nice.’ And indeed, it is a project that will be very useful for people and families if the child gets lost. They also thought about them, ‘If you put a watch on it, those who kidnap the child will know the time, they will remove the watch, but no one can think that there is a device in the shoe that can track the child’s location.’ “Now this competition is truly beautiful.” he said.
Explaining that there are also competitions with very high scientific and scientific depth within the scope of Teknofest, Bayraktar noted that studies are carried out at the doctoral level and scientific level in competitions such as “Biotechnology Innovation”.
Bayraktar said, “In addition, ‘Artificial Intelligence in Health’, imagine that we have competitions that develop advanced technology artificial intelligence algorithms with computers for the early diagnosis of cancer or different diseases by using artificial intelligence technology from radiology images. These excite me very much, and now there are competitions like this that touch young hearts.” It’s very exciting.” he said.
Bayraktar stated that the enthusiasm coming from the young generation and the appearance of pure kindness in a sense made them incredibly happy and said, “Teknofest also has such a magical environment. No matter how dark the world is, the future is like a high-speed charging station, like a season.” All those clouds disperse and suddenly the world becomes beautiful. The world can be much more beautiful, Teknofest is an imagination.” he said.
“Kızılelma IS THE PIONEER OF THE REVOLUTION SYMBOLIZING THE TRANSITION TO UNMANNED COMBAT PLANES”
Selçuk Bayraktar stated that flight shows were the most colorful part of Teknofest in the first years, but the works produced in the competitions started to go beyond those shows.
Pointing out that Kızılelma has 20-year dreams, Bayraktar continued his speech as follows:
“In a sense, it is the pioneer of the revolution that will take place in aviation, symbolizing the transition from manned warplanes to unmanned warplanes. There will be a revolution in aviation on the battlefield, there will be a transition from manned planes to unmanned planes, and Kızılelma is, in a sense, the pioneer of this. We have now started production, mass production. Yes Unmanned aerial planes have been talked about in the world for almost 15-20 years, but there are not many platforms in the world that have been able to go into production and mass production. When you look at this technology, it is a technology that constantly renews itself and develops like smartphones. Let’s say these are the digital toys of the new age. You have to change phones every two years, right? You don’t buy a phone and use it for 10-20 years anymore… You see a structure that is constantly changing and the smart ammunition systems on it are like that. Both the high-tech products inside, and we make all of them ourselves. From flight control systems to data links, that is, data links, as well as actuators, from the actuators that move the air above them, to their mechanics, aerodynamics and even engines, except for the jet engine, jet engines are also coming step by step, to the most advanced radar and electronic, electro-optical systems, all designed by Turkey. and Turkey, the world’s largest exporter. Baykar is the world’s largest unmanned aerial vehicle company and has exported to the most countries. Baykar is the largest exporter and largest manufacturer in the world in the field of unmanned aerial vehicles. Türkiye has 65 percent of the world market share. There must have been a report from the USA in the world, right? According to him, it is the country with the largest market share in UAVs.”
MORE THAN 10 WILL BE PRODUCED NEXT YEAR
On the other hand, Bayraktar gave information about the latest status of Kızılelma and Bayraktar TB3 and said, “We flew the production prototype of Kızılelma. We started mass production. We are planning to produce more than 10 units next year and accelerate the production by increasing it geometrically. There is a lot of demand from the world. “We haven’t signed any contracts yet. We haven’t signed a contract with anyone in particular because that’s our approach.” he said..
Pointing out that Kızılelma was developed entirely with Baykar’s own resources and that developing such a platform requires an investment of 100s of millions of dollars, Bayraktar said that they made the investments with the income they earned from exports without receiving a penny of credit, grant or debt from anyone.
Bayraktar said, “Kızılelma will be produced quickly. It is being produced now. It is not easy to increase the production speed. It also requires a separate investment. You need to create not only the cash opportunity but also the whole chain in a sense. It will also accelerate. Bayraktar TB3 will be launched this year.” “We are continuing land trials until the end. We will start ship trials. The land version has started production and the sea version will start production next year.” he said.
