According to Yonhap, the National Samsung Electronics Union (NSEU) said in a statement that the company did not enter into any dialogue with employees during the strike that started on July 8.
The statement said that normally the strike would be extended to five days, but the plan was changed because Samsung did not take any initiative to resolve the issue.
It was reported in the statement that the strike, which was started with the demand for improvements in issues such as wages, additional bonuses and the leave system, has been extended “indefinitely” and that the strike will continue until the company comes to the negotiation table.
In a statement made by Samsung, it was stated that there was no disruption in production despite the strike.
In South Korea, on July 8, the NSEU decided to go on strike after Samsung did not accept the demands of the employees in the negotiations that started on June 13 and lasted for about 2 weeks.
Samsung employees protested at the entrance of the company’s facility in the Hwaseong district to begin a three-day strike, with 6,540 people attending the first day.
It is stated that NSEU, which has 30 thousand members, constitutes 24 percent of Samsung’s 125 thousand workforce.
