Gorin evaluated the developments in the Russian tourism sector this year at the press conference he held in the capital Moscow.

Stating that there has been a recovery in Russians’ foreign travels, Gorin said, “Despite the current restrictions on international travels, foreign tourism has grown by 20 percent. Countries with direct air transportation, which do not require a visa or have a simplified visa regime, are visited the most.” he said.

Noting that there are currently direct flights from Russia to 36 countries, Gorin said, “We estimate that by the end of this year, approximately 29-30 million of our citizens will visit foreign countries for various purposes, including private, business and touristic trips.” he said.

Pointing out that Turkey is at the top in this field, with approximately 6.7 million Russians expected to visit this year, Gorin said, “Other places where we can talk about very large numbers include Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and Thailand.” he said.

Gorin stated that Russian tourists also showed interest in travels to the Maldives, Bahrain, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.
