Russia’s most important military fairness has been taking place near Moscow every year since 2015. This year, however, there is a big question mark.
The Russian Ministry of Defense has canceled the military fair “Army 2025” without giving reasons. This was first reported by the government -related newspaper “Iswestija” on Wednesday, citing an anonymous source.
Later the daily newspaper “Kommersant” of the Russian oligarch Alischer Usmanow confirmed the report and referred to information from the armaments industry. Accordingly, the fair is said to be only open to specialist audience. An official notification of the planning on the part of the ministry is still pending.
On the official website of the fair it can still be read that “Army 2025” should be held from August 11th to 14th, 2025. The makers also state that the event offers a “very dense and detailed program”. “It is aimed at its target group, which consists of military experts,” it says. This suggests that the fair could take place, but is not accessible to the public – unlike prior expenses.
The fair has been taking place annually since 2015 and is considered the most important platform in Russia to present the latest developments in the field of weapons and military technology. The fair usually takes place in the so -called Patriot Park in Kubinka, west of Moscow. The system is used for all kinds of propaganda events. However, there is no entry for “Army 2025” on the event calendar on the website’s website. However, the fair listed an earlier, archived version of the website on the calendar.
Initially, the fair took place over the period of one week. However, “Army 2024” was shortened to three days last year. Even during the Corona pandemic, the forum took place without a break. According to the organizer, more than 1,000 exhibitors from four countries are supposed to take part this year to present more than 20,000 products.
The Ukrainian specialist portal “Militarnyi” suggests that the cancellation or reduction of the fair could be related to the threat of Ukrainian drones. Most recently, the Ukrainians had repeatedly managed to attack targets with drones from their own production deep into Russia and sometimes cause great damage to military and energy systems. It is not known whether there is actually a connection.
The “Financial Times” recently reported that US President Donald Trump encouraged Ukraine to attack attacks deep in the Russian hinterland. On a phone call with the Ukrainian President Wolodymyr Selenskyj, he asked whether Kiev Russia’s capital Moscow or the second largest city in the country, Saint Petersburg, could make if the USA delivered long -distance weapons, the newspaper wrote to two people familiar with the conversation.

Several US media then cited Trump’s spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt with the statement that Trump only asked one question, but did not call for further killings.
According to Trump’s Tuesday, the United States does not intend to provide Ukraine long -range missiles. When asked whether he was ready, Trump replied to journalists: “No, that’s not our intention.” The Republican was also asked whether Selenskyj Moscow or other destinations should be targeted in Russia. Trump replied: “No, he shouldn’t aim at Moscow”.
