Another rocket from Yemen has been fired on Israel. This time, however, Israel’s air defense came too late: Projectile parts hit Tel Aviv Airport, there are injuries.

After the attack, individual airlines canceled flights to Ben-Gurion airport on Sunday, including Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, Swiss and Air Europa.

Since the beginning of the war in the Gaza Strip, the Huthis has repeatedly attacked ships in the Red Sea and in the Gulf of Aden as well as destinations in Israel with drones and rockets – according to their own statements “out of solidarity with the Palestinians” in the Gaza strip.

The Hamas had triggered the war in the Gaza Strip with its major attack on Israel on October 7, 2023. After a two -month ceasefire in the Gaza Strip from January, the Huthis had temporarily stopped their own attacks on Israel. In response to Israel’s renewed attacks on Hamas goals in the Gaza Strip, however, the Yemeni militia announced further attacks on Israel.

Great Britain and the United States have repeatedly carried out air strikes on Huthi positions in Yemen since the beginning of 2024 to end the attacks on ships in the Red Sea. On March 15, the US Army started a new air offensive against the rebels.
