In the statement made by Mengen Center and Villages Production and Marketing Cooperative, it was stated that Mengen cheese was registered by the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office last year and received a geographical indication.

The cheese is mass produced through cooperative work, and will be available in all cities in Turkey due to increasing demand.

Reminding that Mengen cheese comes from the Ottoman cuisine, the statement said, “We both produce the valuable cheese of Mengen and support our producers. We have established our network to make the famous Mengen cheese obtained from our district accessible throughout Turkey; it will be available in big markets, good luck.”

In the statement, it was noted that the cheese can be eaten by frying and that it does not stick to the pan because it does not melt.
