Kremlin chief Putin claims that he had prescribed a brace in Ukraine in Ukraine. But according to Kyiv, the attacks continue.

The Ukrainian government reacted with great skepticism to the one -sided ceasefire in Ukraine, announced by Russia on Saturday. “The corresponding proposal for unrestricted and unconditional 30-day ceasefire has remained unanswered by Russia for 39 days,” wrote the Ukrainian President on the X.

“The United States made this proposal that Ukraine reacted positively, but Russia has ignored it. If Russia is suddenly ready to really get involved in a format of complete and unconditional silence, Ukraine will act accordingly – and thus reflect Russia’s action,” said Selenskyj, who in turn makes proposals to the Kremlin.

“If there is really a complete ceasefire, Ukraine suggests extending it beyond Easter Day on April 20th. This will reveal the true intentions of Russia – because 30 hours are enough for headlines, but not for real trust -building measures,” said Selenskyj. Thirty days could give peace a chance. At the same time, the Russian attacks against Ukraine would continue.

Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin announced a one -sided ceasefire over the Easter holidays in the war against Ukraine. The Russian army will hire the hostility from Saturday, 5 p.m. CEST until Monday, 11 p.m. CEST, Putin said on Saturday at a meeting with his military chief Waleri Gerassimow in Kremlin.

“According to the commander -in -chief reports, the Russian attacks on several sectors of the front line continue, and the Russian artillery fire did not subside,” wrote Selenskyj. “Therefore, you cannot trust the words from Moscow. We only know too well how Moscow manipulated and we are prepared for everything. The Ukrainian defense forces will act rationally and react accordingly.”

  • Putin announces ceasefire: Easter miracle – or bare calculation?

Every Russian attack will be answered with an appropriate answer. “I expect detailed information from chief commander Oleksandr Syrskyi at 9:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. after his conversations with brigade commanders and other units on the front about the situation in certain directions.”

The Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha also expressed doubts about the one -sided ceasefire announced by Kremlin chief Putin at Easter. In a contribution to X, Sybiha emphasized that there was a long story in which Putin’s statements do not match his actions. “We know that you cannot trust your words and we will pay attention to deeds, not in words,” wrote Sybiha.

He asked Russia to set the fire in all directions. “Only deeds, not words, reveal the truth: this war began and only lasts because of Russia,” continued Sybiha. “Russia can agree to the proposal for a complete and unconditional 30-day ceasefire, which has been on the table since March.”

Kremlin chief Putin announced the one -sided fire break on Saturday at a meeting with his military director Waleri Gerassimow in the Kremlin. According to his will, the fighting on Saturday from 6 p.m. Moscow time (5 p.m. CEST) should be stopped until Monday at midnight. According to the government in Kyiv, however, Ukrainian positions were shot at after the fire break started.

The Green politician Katrin Göring-Eckardt has been skeptical. “Putin’s lives in Ukraine depend on Putin’s arbitrariness. After more than 3 years of continuous war, such announcements are little trustworthy,” she wrote on the platform X.

“The Russians try to pretend that they were ‘peace pencils’,” wrote the head of the center to combat disinformation, Andrij Kowalenko, on Telegram. “You speak of a ‘ceasefire’, but continue to shoot without interruption.” The aim is to blame Ukraine for the failure of the peace efforts.

In the meantime, Great Britain asked Russia to commit a complete ceasefire in Ukraine. It is about “not just a one -day break,” said the British Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
