Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, who made evaluations at the Aviation, Space and Technology Festival (TEKNOFEST) held at Şanlıurfa GAP Airport, gave information about Türksat 7A.

Stating that the features required for Türksat 7A have been completed, Uraloğlu said, “We have had the necessary negotiations with TUSAŞ, TÜBİTAK and a private company, with whom we previously produced Türksat 6A. We will have started the production process before the end of the year. We will have seen the 7A satellite, which we produced locally and nationally, in space within a few years.” he said.

“WE WILL CONTINUE TO PRODUCE OUR OWN SATELLITE”

Uraloğlu reminded that an agreement was made with Qatar in the field of satellite and stated that the name of this satellite was named “Türksat Biruni” by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Stating that they will send the satellite in question into space soon, Uraloğlu said:

“While we continue to produce it ourselves, it is also possible to purchase satellites from satellite manufacturers around the world. Our negotiations regarding this continue. As the need for aviation and communication develops, the need for capacity increases. We strive to meet this at the right time. We will continue to produce our own satellites and purchase suitable satellites from the satellites produced.”

Stating that they reached the population of 5.5 billion in the world with TÜRKSAT satellites, Uraloğlu explained that they provide services to many countries, including state televisions, and that the investment made in the satellite field has a return within a few years.

“WE WILL BENEFIT FROM KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE AT IAC 2026”

Referring to the 77th International Astronautical Congress (IAC 2026) to be held in Antalya on October 5-9, Uraloğlu said, “The congress is important worldwide. We will participate and contribute to issues related to satellite operations and communication. We will benefit from the knowledge and experience there.” he said.
